Prof. Dr. Şahin Karasar
Born in Ankara, Şahin Karasar received his B.A. from Faculty of Communication Sciences, Anadolu University, his M.A. from Marquette University, Wisconsin and Ph.D. degree from Anadolu University, Graduate School of Social Sciences.
Between 2001 and 2004, he assumed several administrative positions at the Eastern Mediterranean University as Department Head and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Communication, besides serving as Vice Rector of the University. During the years 2004-2005 at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University, he was the Head of Radio, Television and Cinema Department at the Faculty of Communication.
Karasar started to work at Maltepe University as the Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Communication in 2005. Between 2007 and 2010, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and at the same time, as the Vice Rector of the University. In 2010, he assumed the positions of Senior Vice President (SVP) Responsible for Training at Turkish Airlines and President of the Turkish Airlines Academy. He was appointed as the Rector of Maltepe University in 2013 and continued for two terms until 2022, when his tenure of office ended. Then, in 2022, he was appointed as the Chicago Education Attaché.
